Welcome to the Schoolhouse.
Youâre in! Before you start clicking every button, opening seventeen tabs, and wondering if thereâs something youâre supposed to be doing⌠start here.
Hi, Iâm Heather. đ
I built Schoolhouse while I was homeschooling my own four kids.
Not after I had homeschooling all figured out. Right in the middle of it.
I was trying to teach multiple children, meet different learning needs, and find the kind of support I neededâespecially while homeschooling a child with special needs. And I couldnât find it.
I didnât need another person telling me homeschooling was possible. I needed actual help.
Teachers who could teach the subjects I couldnâtâor simply didnât want to teach. Curriculum I didnât have to piece together from seventeen different places. People I could ask when I didnât know what to do next. And a community where I didnât feel like I was figuring all of this out by myself.
So I started building it. Thatâs where Schoolhouse Online came from.
Today, my four kids have graduated, but I havenât forgotten what it felt like to be the mom in the middle of it. Thatâs why I want your first 30 days here to be about more than learning how to use another homeschool program.
I want you to discover what happens when you finally have some help carrying it.
Welcome to the Schoolhouse. Iâm really glad youâre here.

Enroll Your Student(s)
First things firstâwe need to know who weâre teaching.
Please complete the Schoolhouse Enrollment Form for each student who will be participating.
Your enrollment information helps us connect your students to additional Schoolhouse resources, including Epic and other resources we are adding for our families.
If the form is difficult to complete inside this page on your device, use the button above to open it in a new tab.
We highly recommend scheduling a quick call with one of our Schoolhouse mentors. You can do this anytime during your first 30 days, but sooner rather than later is best.
Meet Ms. Barbara.
Your mentor can help you understand the curriculum, talk through your studentâs grade level and needs, decide where to begin, and choose the classes and resources that make the most sense for your family.
This is not another complicated homeschool meeting. Itâs a quick setup conversation, a chance to meet your mentor, and a place to ask those âOkay, but what should MY kid actually be doing?â questions.
You can schedule your call anytime during your first 30 days, but we recommend doing it sooner rather than later so you can get the most out of your time inside the Schoolhouse.
Meet Your Student Dashboard
This is your childâs Schoolhouse home base.
You do not need to hunt through the mom community every morning looking for your childâs schoolwork. Their dashboard is where theyâll find what they need for school.
Take a few minutes with your child and look through it together. Show them: âThis is YOUR Schoolhouse.â
The goal is for students to become comfortable opening their own dashboard and knowing where to go without Mom directing every click.
Find the Live Classes + Zoom Links
Now letâs find the teachers.
Inside your studentâs dashboard, youâll be able to access their live Schoolhouse classes and class links.
Before the first class, we recommend:
- Download or update the Zoom app.
- Make sure the camera, microphone, and speakers work.
- Log into the student dashboard - LIVE CLASSESS - a few minutes early.
- Find the class link before class begins.
Find the Replays + Class Materials
Because real life will happen during these 30 days.
Someone will sleep late. There will be an appointment. A child will suddenly decide that 10:00 AM is the perfect time to have an existential crisis over socks.
Thatâs why we have replays.
If your child misses a live classâor simply learns better watching laterâyou can use the class replay. This is also where youâll find available class materials, assignments, worksheets, and other resources connected to the class.
Schoolhouse should fit your homeschoolânot the other way around.
Come Into the Mom Community
Your childâs dashboard is for school. The Schoolhouse community is for you.
Inside the community, you can:
- Ask questions and get help when youâre stuck.
- Talk with other homeschool moms.
- Join mom events and conversations.
- Find Schoolhouse announcements and updates.
- Access community resources and freebies.
- Discover that somebody elseâs homeschool morning was just as ridiculous as yours. đ
You do not have to sit at home trying to figure something out for three days before saying something. Come into the community and ask. That is literally why we are here.
Pick ONE Class
We are not planning the next 30 days.
Weâre going to do one thing: pick one class.
Find it. Put it on your calendar. Show your child where the link is. And attend.
Thatâs it. Once youâve done that, youâve officially started finding your Schoolhouse rhythm.
Now live inside the Schoolhouse for a while.
Meet the teachers. Try some live classes. Watch a replay. Use the curriculum. Ask a question in the community. Talk with your mentor. Let your child find the classes they love.
And give yourself permission not to use every single thing we offer.
The goal isnât to see how much Schoolhouse you can squeeze into your homeschool.
The goal is to answer one question:
Does having Schoolhouse beside us make homeschooling easier?
You chose homeschooling. You never said you had to do all of it alone.
Iâm really glad youâre here.
